George Galster earned his Ph.D. in Economics from M.I.T. and now serves as Clarence Hilberry Professor of Urban Affairs at Wayne State University. He has published over 150 peer-reviewed articles, 8 books and 34 book chapters on a wide range of urban topics. He has been a consultant to the U.S. Departments of Housing and Urban Development and Justice, and served on the Consumer Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve’s Board of Governors.
The Urban Affairs Association placed him on their “Service Honour Roll” in 2014 and awarded him the “Contributions to the Field of Urban Affairs” prize in 2016.
